Protect your myGov account with a passkey or code

myGov connects to Centrelink, Medicare, the ATO and more, so it is a target for scammers.

Options

• myGov passkey — log in with your phone's face, fingerprint or PIN. Very hard for scammers to steal.
• myGov Code Generator app — the app shows a code each time you log in.
• myID — the Australian Government's digital ID app.

Steps to set up a passkey

1. Type my.gov.au into your browser yourself and log in.
2. Choose Account (or your name), then Sign in options.
3. Choose Passkey and follow the steps on screen.

Remember

• myGov will never send you a link to log in by text or email.
• Always type my.gov.au yourself.
