What we provide
SteadyCheck helps you decide whether messages, letters, calls and websites are scams, and helps with everyday technology. We aim to answer checks within 30 minutes. We're open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. On the rare days we're closed you'll get an instant safety reply and we'll check it as soon as we open.
Our answers are our best, careful opinion. We can't guarantee every answer is right, so when in doubt we say "not sure" and tell you how to check safely. Always contact organisations using contact details you find yourself.
Prices and payment
- All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.
- Monthly plans renew each month until you cancel. We never hide renewals — you'll see your next payment date in your portal.
- Payment only ever happens inside your logged-in portal. We will never ask you to pay by phone, text or email.
Cancelling
You can cancel any time in two taps in your portal under Billing. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and nothing more is charged. We'll email you a confirmation.
Your consumer rights
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Remote support
We only ever connect to your device when you start a session in your portal, after we've checked your code word. You can end it at any time. We keep a log you can see.
Using the service fairly
Please don't send us anything unlawful, or use the service to harass anyone. We limit the number of checks per day to keep the service fast for everyone.
Emergencies
We are not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, call 000. If you've lost money, call your bank straight away using the number on the back of your card.
Changes
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in your portal and by email before the change applies.
