Using Quick Assist safely (Windows)
Quick Assist is built in to Windows. Only use it when YOU started a session with us.
Only use these steps after you pressed "I need help on my computer now" in your SteadyCheck portal, and the person on the phone said your code word to you.
Steps
- Click Start and type Quick Assist. Open it.
- Under Get help, type the 6-character code our helper reads to you.
- Click Submit, then Allow when asked.
- You can end the session at any time by clicking Leave or closing the window.
If anyone else ever asks you to open Quick Assist, hang up — it's a scam.
