myGov "account suspended" texts and emails

Scammers say your myGov account is locked and ask you to log in through a link. The fake page steals your login.

What it looks like

A text or email with the myGov name and colours, saying your account is suspended or a refund is waiting.

myGov: Your account has been suspended due to unusual activity. Verify your details here: [link removed]

A made-up example — not a real message, not a real link.

How to spot it

  • myGov never sends links to log in
  • It rushes you with a deadline
  • The web address isn't my.gov.au

What to do

  1. Don't click the link
  2. Go to my.gov.au by typing it yourself
  3. If you entered details, change your password and call Services Australia
